Search Fix app does not work in PC Settings in Windows 10 -

Several Windows 10 users face this unexpected behavior of Windows 10 is that when searching from the Start menu or in the Settings app, the search returns no results. If you face this problem, follow the instructions below to resolve this issue.


To secure research in the application settings and Start menu in Windows 10, you must do the following:

1. Press Win + R shortcut keys together on the keyboard to open the Run dialog box

2. Paste the following text in the Run box and press Enter :.

3. A new Explorer window will open. You will see Indexed folder .
4. Right click and open its properties.
5. In Properties, click the Advanced button on the General tab. The following dialog box appears:
6. Here, check the option labeled "Allow files in that folder have contents indexed in addition to file properties", as shown below:
   
   If it is already checked, uncheck it, click Apply and check again, and click Apply again. Finally, click OK and close any dialog windows.

You're done. Wait a few minutes until the Indexing Service checks all files in the folder. After that, research in the Settings application and in the Start menu should start working again.
