You may have noticed that in the escape of Windows 10 build 901, Microsoft has killed the old calculator for his (Metro) modern version. You might be curious why Microsoft left an envelope in the operating system? Well, the answer is simple: for backward compatibility. There are many applications that run the Windows calculator directly from their interface, now all these applications will launch this new Metro application.
Microsoft has tried to make the Metro version of calculator similar to the classic, that it also has various working groups modes:
it is touch friendly and great, too, in fact, for mouse users and although it runs inside a window, it does not feel as good as the traditional application
the good old calc.exe was less greedy resources and opened faster than any modern application. However, it seems that Microsoft has decided to give up and force us to use the modern application.
