Aero Snap feature, which appeared in Windows 7, allows you to easily manage open windows. It has a number of functions, one of which is the ability to anchor a window to the edges of the screen. This behavior exists in Windows 10 and Windows 8 as well. Windows disables Aero Snap completely via Accessibility Centre but offers no control over it.
