File Explorer, formerly known as Windows Explorer in earlier versions of Windows, is the default file management application in Windows for a long time. It has evolved over time to acquire many different features for file management. Windows 10 comes with mostly the same version of Windows 8 Explorer, except for a few changes such as access quick replacement Favorites. It seems that Microsoft made a new "File Explorer" app, which will be universal application like Photos, Cortana or Groove.
The application can inherit existing functionality of the Xbox app that looks like this:
using this application, the user will be able to perform all the basic tasks on files that are currently available in the file browser. Operations such as move, delete, share, select and copy items, set their properties will be borne by the next application. It also includes the ability to move to different points of view for files and folders like the classic File Explorer app allows Windows 10.
The application will respect the white or black theme option according to your system preferences.
The application is not available to the public for download. It also has not been officially announced. However, in the recent past, Peter Skillman, GM Core UX for Windows Desktop revealed they were working on a major File Explorer update that can be used on touch devices. Unfortunately, he did not share the exact dates when we see these changes in Insider built or in the stable branch. (Via Neowin ).
