Tip: Run Calculator in Windows 10 directly -

You may have noticed that in the escape of Windows 10 build 901, Microsoft has killed the old calculator for his (Metro) modern version. Even when typing "calc.exe" in the Run dialog box, the modern application open. Here is an explanation of why this happens. I will also show you another way to run the modern Calculator application directly since you have no choice anyway

This is how the Calculator application looks :.

to open, I press the shortcut keys Win + R on my keyboard and enter calc in the Run dialog box.

This was one of the popular ways to start the classic calculator application. But now it's just a wrapper. To open the new calculator directly, enter the following in the Run dialog box:

 calculator: //

See:
Windows 10 calculator run box
The result will be exactly the same as above.

You might be curious why Microsoft left an envelope in the operating system? Well, the answer is simple: for backward compatibility. There are many applications that run the Windows calculator directly from their interface, now all these applications will launch this new Metro application.
Microsoft has tried to make the Metro version of calculator similar to the classic, that it also has various working groups modes:
modern calculator modes
it is touch friendly and great, too, in fact, for mouse users and although it runs inside a window, it does not feel as good as the traditional application

the good old calc.exe was less greedy resources and opened faster than any modern application. However, it seems that Microsoft has decided to give up and force us to use the modern application.

Do you like the way Microsoft switches to Metro apps everywhere or do you prefer the classic Windows applications and you want them to be reborn in the final version of Windows 10
