In Windows 10 build 901, Microsoft introduced a new sound mixer. As you can deduce from the previous article, it is again a modern application, large, slow and pleasant feel. Let's see how you can enable it and test it yourself
This is how it looks :.
To enable it, you must apply a simple registry change, as described below
- Open the Registry Editor
- Go to the key following registry: ..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Software Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion MTCUVC
Tip: .. See how to switch to the desired registry key with one click
Create sub Keyword MTCUVC if you do not have - Create a new 32-bit DWORD value named EnableMtcUvc and set it to 1.
- log off and log in your Windows account. Alternatively, you can simply restart the Explorer shell.
You're done. Now click on the volume icon / her in the notification area (system tray) to launch the new audio mixer. It may take a few seconds before it will appear on the screen.
It looks like Microsoft has taken its decision to convert Windows into a smartphone OS like. Typical applications are rejected in favor of modern applications, even control panel and now the volume mixer become Metro style. If you prefer to use conventional applications, following builds of Windows 10, including version will literally make you shit. I do not see this working well for Microsoft.
